This study analyzes modern conservatism as a discursive-performative phenomenon, articulating two dimensions: Edmund Burke epistemology establishing moral historicism as a critique of rationalism, and François-René de Chateaubriand linguistic intervention institutionalizing "conservative" as a political category. Through linguistic contextualism and speech act theory, we demonstrate that the founding of Le Conservateur (1818-1820) constituted an illocutionary act transforming moral disposition into political identity. Conservatism emerges as a grammar of historical continuity reconciling contingency and normativity. The performative approach reveals power as a symbolic effect of language creating identities and political realities, offering an analytical model for contemporary debates on discourse and identity.
