Uma história reacionária?
Reflexões sobre a desdemocratização do passado nos Estados Unidos da “Era Trump”

Este estudo analisa o conservadorismo moderno como fenômeno discursivo-performativo, articulando duas dimensões: a epistemologia de Edmund Burke estabelecendo o historicismo moral como crítica ao racionalismo, e a intervenção linguística de François-René de Chateaubriand institucionalizando o "conservador" como categoria política. Pelo contextualismo linguístico e teoria dos atos de fala, demonstramos que a fundação do Le Conservateur (1818-1820) constituiu ato ilocucionário transformando disposição moral em identidade política. O conservadorismo emerge como gramática da continuidade histórica conciliando contingência e normatividade. A abordagem performativa revela o poder como efeito simbólico da linguagem criando identidades e realidades políticas, oferecendo modelo analítico para debates contemporâneos sobre discurso e identidade.
