This essay aims to analyze the concept of nostalgia in a double movement to understand changes in historiography as well as to inquire the contemporary experience of time. Firstly, it presents the approaches relating nostalgia to its modern rebirth and its criticism on the experience of time in modern historicism. In a second moment, it deals with a change on the theoretical perspective of history that relates nostalgia to the attack on historical realism through the conjunction between memory and history. Finally, I propose a correlation between nostalgia as a literary scene and the experience of present time.
