He has been awarded “Scholarship for university staff training” (FPU) by the Ministry Education and Culture of Spain, https://portal.uah.es/portal/page/portal/epd2_profesores/prof308973. He work as contributor for the news agency Europapress, section “Notimérica” and for “Espausa”, the encyclopaedia about the Spanish presence in the USA. http://espausa.com/. He is Representative of research staff in the University Research Institute of  Latin American Studies (IELAT), University of Alcalá. His teaching commitments include 'The Image of Latin America: cinema, novel and historical narratives” (100139). He studied History at undergraduate level at University of Alcalá, Spain and at the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile (2010-2014), and he continued his postgraduate education at the University Research Institute of Latin American Studies (IELAT) at the University of Alcalá where he took an MA in “Latin America and the European Union. An strategic cooperation” (2014-2015).

His PhD research, “Histories of the old Empire. The early modern American world in the historical thought of Spain and Great Britain (1870-2015)”, compares the historical discourses about colonial America produced by the most important British and Spanish historians and intellectuals from the age of empires to the present times (1870-2012). Using a theoretical framework based on the new comparative and longe-durée trends in intellectual history, postcolonial theory conceptual history and history of historiography, he tries to explain the role of America and the old colonial empires in the multiple national, colonial and universal historical narratives that have been constructed in both countries during the successive junctures of the period. The research focuses on the content of the historical texts and in the long-term debate process in which the historians have given multiple meanings to the connection between the present, the past and the future of the Atlantic World.

His research interests are focused on Intellectual History, History of Historiography, Postcolonial Theory, Atlantic History, Imperial History, Colonial History, Nationalism and comparative History. I am particularly interested in the intellectual connections and the movement of political and historical ideas across the Atlantic Ocean.
